Joe Jackson with opening act Thea Gilmore
Joe Jackson - in the 70’s he challenged the punk scene and bought the new wave sound to America. In the 80’s his smash hit “Is She Really Going Out With Him” from his debut album “Look Sharp” introduced his music to the world. Despite his early image as dapper new-wave rocker, Jackson has never allowed himself to be limited in where he can go as composer or performer. Through the years he has explored reggae, jump-blues and Latin rhythms, along with producing several memorable film scores. His foray into long-form composing won him a Best Pop Instrumental Recording Grammy in 2000 for his 1999 Sony Classical release, Symphony No. 1, which featured jazz and rock players instead of a traditional orchestra.
Now with over 20 albums in his catalog and five Grammy nominations under his belt, he is making his debut performance at The Hall, performing as a trio with his original bandmates, Graham Maby on bass and Dave Houghton on drums. They'll be playing crowd favorites (“Steppin’ Out”,“Breaking Us In Two”) and songs from his newly released CD Rain.
Don't miss your chance to see this one of a kind performer in this one of a kind space! |
